I have loved painting and drawing from an early age and had a a great enthusiasm for it throughout my time at school, choosing to take art as a subject at both GCSE and A Level stages. Then, despite pursuing a science based degree and subsequent career, I endeavored to maintain an element of my creative side by choosing the civil engineering profession, as a highway designer.

However, after a decade in the industry, I have recently faced redundancy, due to this sector being badly hit by the recession and, more importantly, my husband and I have started a family with our little baby daughter arriving Spring 2010.

These events have therefore given me cause to consider a change in career, to allow me to work from home to fit around our daughter's needs, and deliver a service that will hopefully be enjoyed by my clients as much as I enjoy providing it.

About Me - My Background
Living just outside Taunton, in Somerset, I have been blessed with so much lovely scenery to inspire me and have therefore kept my hand in over the years, working on landscapes and still life in my spare time, as a relaxing hobby. In recent years, however, I have focussed on adult, children and pet portraits in particular, with requests for commissioned work rapidly increasing in number. This has given me the opportunity to use my skills to create a small sideline business, which I now hope to develop into something a bit bigger.

Please feel free to browse my site and contact me if you have any queries about my work. I hope I may be of assistance and look forward to perhaps working with you soon.
